About
Did you ever spend more time looking for a movie or a show than actually watching it? Me and my girlfriend certainly have, and it happened quite often. So I decided to build something to make that process faster. Moviematcher.nl allows you to look for a movie based on what you're feeling, and you can even apply whatever kind of filters you want. Don't feel like watching a movie with ghosts? Just say it! (my girlfriend is terrified of them). When you've picked a couple of movies, you can add them to a tray and just send the link to however many people you want for them to vote. Easy as that. Thank you very much for taking the time checking it out. :) NOTE: Still in development!

SuperReviewers Summary
MovieMatcher (moviematcher.nl) — Summary Avg rating: 4.2/5 What it does: A mood/intent-based movie recommendation site. Users type a specific ask or tap preset tags ("Make me laugh," "Hidden gems," "90s nostalgia") and get matched movies, plus a "Surprise Me" option for when they can't decide. What worked well:
Recommendations are genuinely relevant to what's typed, not generic "popular" lists — called out as rare for rec tools No learning curve, fast and instant results Simple, fun way to cut down decision-paralysis scrolling time
What didn't work well:
Not a daily-use tool, more of a once-a-week/weekend habit OTT/platform availability info is unreliable — shows the same narrow set of platforms repeatedly instead of confirming where the movie is actually streamable Movie-only, no TV/web series support (mentioned by all 3 reviewers as a clear gap) Mixed take on "Surprise Me": two reviewers felt it stayed too close to their original ask and didn't feel like a real surprise; one reviewer actually liked it and found it surfaced movies they'd have otherwise skipped. Worth digging into whether this is inconsistent behavior or just varies by query.
Best for: Casual weekend watchers, couples, and families stuck in decision paralysis — not movie buffs or power users who already know what they want. Verdict: All 3 would recommend it. Two clear asks for the founder, repeated across reviews: fix platform/OTT accuracy, and add TV/web series as a category since a lot of "what to watch" paralysis is series-related, not just movies.
